Overview

Pin Parvati Pass Trek is a challenging & tricky crossover located at the height of 5319 meters above sea level. Trek starts from Barshaini in Parvati valley and ends in Mudh village of Spiti valley. The Pass is named after the pass link of Parvati Valley To Spiti. It takes 10 days to complete the entire trek.
Pin Parvati Pass was first crossed in August 1884 by Sir Louis Dane in search of an alternate route to the Spiti valley. This pass connects the fertile and lush Parvati valley on the Kullu side with the Pin valley on the Spiti side. It is a popular trekking route today though still rarely visited. Very few himalayan treks give you a chance to walk on a glacier.
Pin Parvati Pass trek is strictly for experienced trekkers. It is meant only for trekkers, who have done atleast 2 high altitude treks above 14,000ft before. It requires great stamina, trekking skills and endurance to walk on strenuous terrain. It is a 110 km long expedition with unlimited adventure. The pass also gives a terrific view on the side of the multicolor hue of mountains bordered by the snowy peaks and barren Spiti valley on the other.
This magnificent trek then further leads to Mantalai Lake trek to Base Camp over to Pin Parvati Pass at 17,500ft high after 8 hours of trekking. While reaching Pin Valley, you will come across various wild flowers and endangered species especially Snow leopards and Himalayan Birds.
One of the best trans himalayan treks. It is an exciting challenge for any trekker. The high altitude mountain pass is located at the height of 17,475ft gives the trekkers the experience of a lifetime.
The main highlight of this trek is the changing scenery from lush green landscapes to the starkly desolate valley of Pin Valley National Park. It provides a magnificent traverses as you will see the sharp contrast in the landscapes, culture, flora and fauna.
pin parvati pass trek duration
The trek ends here at Mudh village, you can stay in Kaza and explore the nearby areas and monasteries. Trekkers can admire the beauty of Spiti Valley and ancient Buddhist monasteries of the region. It provides a magnificent traverse as you will see the sharp contrast in the landscapes, culture, flora and fauna. The trek is not meant for the faint-hearted. This trek can be attempted by those who have done high altitude treks before. The terrain has boulders, steep sections, river crossing, rough patches, chilly winds, and moraines. Not for the first-timers, but experienced trekkers can do this as there is a sudden gain in height and many challenges on the way.
